Site Report PEB Forum

I thought I would update how things are going- In my view, great.

Some history. I created www.pebforum.com in May of 2007 (bought URL and vbulletin at the same time). I was averaging about 15-20 visits per day, pretty steady the entire time before I installed vBSEO. I installed vBSEO on January 2nd (Happy New Year to me!).

For the first six months, my position for my main keyword "Physical Evaluation Board" was 13. After I installed VBSEO, it climbed to 6. Last month, it hit 2.

Everything has been growing, not exponential, but steady, solid growth. Nothing occurs in a vacuum, so my link building, posting on other forums, the occasional newspaper article (which generally will bump me up for a week or two at the most, but then drops off) have all likely had an effect. Plus, in the last three months, I have been improving the layout, I created a separate homepage than the forums, I improved the graphic design elements, etc. I went through some growing pains figuring things out (I had problems with .htaccess (remember to remove the //), took me a while to get Relevant Replacements up, a few other things I can't think of now).

Well, you can see from the attachment how things are going! I am solidly at more than 55% for SE referrals daily. When I started, 15-20 visits daily, now I am at solidly more than 200 daily (with many days above 300). There are two dips in numbers, one in Feb.1, the other March 20th. You can ignore those dips, they were times I made Template mods and forgot to put in analytics...talk about heart attack days!

Anyway, I am still improving, and growing. I think the money was well worth it in buying vBSEO and the support here has been great. Thanks!

#1 in Google for my keyword!

This past Sunday, my google position moved from 3 to 1 for "Physical Evaluation Board."

I installed January 1. At that point is was on the second page (i.e, nowhere). Within a few weeks I made it to 4. About end of February, I was at 3. My SE traffic was at a pretty steady 57%. Since the move to #1, it has gone up to 62%.

I am now working on trying to get other important keywords, like "Army," "Navy," etc....

Things are picking up, it has only been 4 months and my traffic is up from around 50 visits a day to around 300-350. I started small, and my site is definitely a niche. But the increase has been great and I think it will continue to grow!

Thanks, guys!

Fantastic. It's great to hear that you are making progress. You've done a lot of work over the past few months improving your site, and now it's starting to pay off for you.
