New site, SE's showing archive pages

I have setup E-Discovery Resource forum with VBSEO but I see most of my search resulst (that are good!) are linking for the Archive. Is this a user error on my part that the archives are showing and the main pages are not!

Thanks

I would change the gray background to white to match your header logo.

You need to update vBSEO Sitemap to 2.0, since 1.7 isn't compatible with vBSEO 3.x.

Also, you have only recently installed vBSEO, so it's too soon to expect results at this point.

Update Sitemap, start adding quality content related to your subject matter, and the indexing will happen eventually.

I updated to 2.0, how bad of an impact was 1.7 on the sites?

You don't have a lot of content, and the site just started, so you should be fine.

Yeah I thought of that but I dont want to have people end up nowhere, I guess I can re-direct 404 to forum home though.

a 404 page should be treated as a 404 and never be redirected to live domain..... do not do this mistake

does vbseo 404 it to SE's and redirect the users to the hompage when the redirect is set inside VBSEO?

this is cloaking you will get your site banned for this !
You should show same 404 pages to both search engines and your site visitors.

Try to tweak the 404 page placing not more then 5-10 important links to various sections of your site and a search box as well...

Create a Custom vBulletin "404 Page Not Found" Page, and direct vBSEO to use it.

ok, ok lol..

This may have gotten a bit out of hand. does VBSEO re-direct via 301 to the index or does it 401 then redirect?
