Hey Cody, Keith is right with regards to the location of the welcome headers... a critical aspect is WHAT Search Engines encounter at the top of your page.

SEO-wise, I'd say... dump them, but again, it's a balance suitable for your forums that you need to find. If your registrations dropped 50% I'd say find the lowest position you can insert them and keep them.

I'll try to come up with a workaround for the Welcome Headers issue as so many people are using them (and there's no doubt about their efficacy)

Most Guests from Search Engines go first to a thread, therefore I have the Welcome text in Showthread at the bottom, under the Posts.

Re: My SEO performance tracking

Just figured I'd post up an update

As of March 16th 12pm

SEO stats:
Indexed Pages: 136,000 (google) & 87,700 (Yahoo)
VBSEO Indexed Pages: 4 (google) & 667 (Yahoo)
Search Engine Refferals: No noticeable change

So, not much happening yet. Yahoo still slowly plodding along upwards...google...not doing a thing

Re: My SEO performance tracking

Seemed about time for another update. I have noticed a small increase in traffic since implementation, however, it is not large enough for me to be able to determine if it is VbSeo related...or "typical" growth. Also a small increase in SE referers, but again...difficult to tell.

As of April 2nd 11am

SEO stats:
Indexed Pages: 116,000 (google) & 89,400 (Yahoo)
VBSEO Indexed Pages: 20 (google) & 6,530 (Yahoo)

As you can see, google really hasn't done anything at all for the last 4 weeks, however, it does appear that yahoo has begun reindexing our site.

We'll see where it goes from here

Re: My SEO performance tracking

Well it has now been a little over 6 weeks. Still seeing no changes at all with Google...is this normal? Yahoo however appears to reindexing the new SEO changes.

As of April 24nd 11am
SEO stats:
Indexed Pages: 120,000 (google) & 93,000 (Yahoo)
VBSEO Indexed Pages: 15 (google) & 18,200 (Yahoo)

As you can see, google really hasn't done anything at all for the last 4 weeks, however, it does appear that yahoo has begun reindexing our site.
