google - 688 pages (fluctuates between 600-800, depending on the datacenter)
Yahoo - 20,100 pages
MSN - 760 pages

Day 2

seeing lots more bot traffic. Mostly yahoo and other smaller search bots, but seeing the occasional MSN and Google Bot more often as well.
Pages in Google - 870, which is what it was about a week before starting this. EDIT - results on a google search was actually still 688, the 870 is per the google api, and that number hasnt changed in a while. Will get these results directly from google search from now on.
Pages in Yahoo - 20,300
Pages in MSN - 760

I am monitoring one major search phrase, starting today - "fantasy football"

Google - 72
yahoo - 11
MSN - 52

I will start tracking results of more phrases once my indexed pages start increasing and vbseo pages start filtering in.

You wont believe this, well I almost didnt anyway. Installed this yesterday, and I already have my first vbseo page listed on yahoo.

For some reason, it redirects to the home page of my forum. They wont all do that will they?

Edit - took the www off of the search, and I have 5 vbseo pages!!!!

I see 4 results returned by this query and all of them are opened correctly

yeah, just the first one redirected to my home forum page. The others work great. I am very pleased to see these pages indexing already.

Still a huge number of yahoo spiders constantly on my site. I think they have gotten trapped
Noticing quite a few lesser known spiders crawling all throughout the site as well.
seeing 3-4 google spiders per day

- VBSEO pages - 1
Pages in Yahoo - 19,000 - This number is really fluctuating up and down right now depending on the datacenter it seems
- VBSEO pages - 113
Pages in MSN - 1343
- VBSEO pages - 380

Early results are showing MSN to be aggressively changing/adding vbseo links. Yahoo has incorporated the vbseo link fairly quickly as well.

I think Juan noticing my forums were only showing threads for the last month and having me change it to "the beginning) is helping quite a bit as well here.

RED = Drop in number
GREEN = Rise in numbers
BLACK = no change

Not going to panic about this.... but....

Other than my forum home page, which is PR4, I have lost PR for the rest of my forums. Is this due to the new CRU that has not yet been measured by G yet? (hoping this is the case)

I may as well do this right and list all the major keyword phrases I am monitoring. (well, not all of them, but the ones that I watch the closest)

Well, a few days later, and really no change other than I have lost ranking for all keywords at yahoo except for one of them. The rest have dropped off the map completely. I subscribed to the yahoo directory over the Thanksgiving holiday, and was accepted Monday evening, still waiting to have my site show up in the directory though.

Pages indexed climbed at msn, but dropped back down. indexed pages at yahoo goes up, then back down. Absolutely no change at google, and only 4 pages indexed with vbseo in it at google.

Ok, it has been about 2 1/2 weeks

Since the installation of vBSEO.

It remains to be seen if these numbers will hold, but here is what I have. I am posting this update due to some pretty significant changes in my google statisctics.

Indexed Pages (measuring from pre-vBSEO installation)

Google - 17,300, 7 are vBSEO'd
Yahoo - 20,000, 4300 are vBSEO'd
MSN - 1767, 1051 are vbSEO'd

Keyword Rankings (measuring from pre-vBSEO installation)

rather than list them all seperately, I will just say that after a major drop in rankings right after installing this software, many keywords have climbed back up. I dont blame the drop on vBSEO, as it happened with in a day or two after the installation, nor will I give credit at this point for the climb. I will hold back judgement in this area either way for now. I will note one of my keywords here though that has significanty risen in google and yahoo

fantasy football rankings
- google - 10, up 17 spots
- yahoo - 3, up 6 spots
- msn - 37, down 12 spots

To add to this update, I must mention that I applied to and was accepted to the yahoo directory 1 week ago.

Indexed Pages

Google - 818 - 198 are vbseo'd. 205 of the total pages are forum pages.
Yahoo - 14,100 - 5,790 are vbseo'd.
MSN - 2,812 - 1,980 are vbseo'd

Keyword Rankings - Overall, I have several google keywords showing up with decent rankings now.... Here are a few from google, many of them you can see old rankings in a previous post.

fantasy football draft - 3
fantasy football ranking - 5
fantasy football forums - 7
2006 nfl draft - 9
fantasy football cheatsheets - 9
fantasy football rankings - 11
nfl draft - 20
fantasy football advice - 25
fantasy football resources - 48

overall, rankings are looking much better than a couple months ago. The changes made to my forums include vBSEO, vBSEO sitemap, vBSEO conditional signatures.

It appears I am just now beginning to get my site indexed with vbseo pages in google, and I would expect that within the next month or two, hopefully sooner, we will all be blessed with a google PageRank update. It will be intersting to see what happens with PageRank as all my current vbseo'd pages have 0 rank and before the installation, much of my forums content had PR.

just a little note to add. Since checking these stats this morning, I am currently showing #1 for 2006 nfl draft. Not sure how long it will last, but you can bet I will enjoy every minute of it.

edit - didn't last long, but I hope it comes back.

Yep, I noticed you are 9 now :(... what a tease!

How about individual threads? Do you see any difference in rankings or more traffic coming from internal threads indexed in google? Keywords driving this traffic may or may not be your main (the ones you are tracking) keywords.
