 It's getting better and better every day...
We use to have terrible SEO for our board I must admit. We didn't even have it open for guests and the only pages that where indexed in search engines was memberlist.php or other no content pages. We already had a big forum, but it did have so mutch more potential if the PR and indexed pages would go up. So we decided to open the boards for guests and did a lot for SEO, including installation of vbseo. Pre-vbseo stats: Indexed pages: forum: PR 2 / 139 indexed in google home: PR 4 / 801 indexed in google SERP's: 'bodybuilding' : forumhome on page 6 'voedingsschema' : on page 3 'dieetschema' : on page 2 'anabolen' : on page 3 Post-vbseo stats after 3 weeks: forum: PR 2 / 18500 indexed in google http://www.google.be/search?q=site%3...ding.com&hl=nl home: PR 4 / 22500 indexed in google http://www.google.be/search?hl=nl&q=...lding.com&meta= SERP's: 'bodybuilding' : forumhome first on page 2 'voedingsschema' : nr.3 on page 1 'dieetschema' : on page 1 'anabolen' : on page 2 No visible change for the PR in google's toolbar but I know it's higher because the site is climbing in the serp's. Just an update here. About a few days ago I installed the vbseo sitemaps hack, availlable on vBulletin.org. These are the results on google today, November 27, 2005: forum: 32700 indexed http://www.google.be/search?hl=nl&q=...nG=Zoeken&meta= home: 36300 indexed http://www.google.be/search?hl=nl&q=...lding.com&meta= These results show almost a doubled number of pages indexed for the forum in a few weeks! I'm still waiting for the G.P.R. update, but the ranking did go up for all words, I'm on page 1 for 'bodybuilding' now  Last edited by dutchbb; 02-13-2006 at 03:03 PM. |

has this been a sudden change for you, or has this jump been gradual since you installed? Curious cause I installed the software 3-4 days after you and I have only seen a drop in google. I am looking to get in the 34,000 + range, but instead I have dropped from 870 to 496 |

We also saw a drop first. We 'lost' about 10.000 in the first days (which was scary), but shortly after that spiders were all over the board (18-24 googlebot) and this is the result ps: in my experience googlebot needs to take time to do things and you have to have patience. This is true for pr but also for the index. |
