The site looks good, although with the green/brown and target icons, you could argue that it looks like a hunting forum.

You are in a highly competitive niche. I recommend differentiation. Here's how you might do some keyword differentiation:
  • Go to the top 2 or 3 webmaster forums. Take down a list of their forum names and descriptions, checking for which terms they are trying to rank for.
  • Compare this list against your own. Make sure you have full coverage of all things pertinent to the niche, and (if not) add them.
  • Now - take note of their forum titles and descriptions. Your goal here will be to cover the same basic information, but in similar terminology with lower search competition.
  • Firstly - you're going to need to evaluate each of the niche keywords that they are competing for, and get a sense of how much competition there is for those terms. One way to find out is simply to check the # of results Google returns when you search for them. Another way is to see what the minimum bids are for those terms in AdSense (the higher the minimum bid, the more competitive, in general).
  • Now I would check each term you would like to use through a tool to view related search terms. Your goal now will be to identify similar terms with less search competition, but that cover the same basic ideas. You want to build some unique forum titles and descriptions that can help you to harness traffic that some of your biggest competitors will not be optimized for. For instance, would you really want to try to compete for "search engine optimization"? It's almost certain that you will have no chance of ever ranking in the top 25 pages for this term. Why not try something with a lower search volume like "Organic SEO"? Anything SEO will be hard to rank for. But the idea is to find similar terms, that do get some search traffic (albeit lower volume), with less competition. Do this process on every forum title and description, and even content within your site and you have a much higher likelihood of success in the tough niche you have chosen.

Note: I prefer replacing the showpost link with permalink. This is an option in your vBSEO control panel (vbseocp.php).

You are in a highly competitive niche. I recommend differentiation.

Remember - the search engines don't care what color your template is, so that's "differentiation" for the people after they get there, but it doesn't encourage the engines to send them there in the first place.

The hunting theme is cool. Why not go all out? Put something related in those cross-hairs.

Check out your signature. Do you want to compete for "Webmaster Forum"? Or is there something else you could target?

Well as long as we are talking about this::

I am actually a SEO tech and if you look in Goog for:

SEO web forum
Webmaster SEO forum
Web developers forum

All of which are like 1-2-3 or on the first page and there are many others many others, so targeting keywords is not really a thing if you work at it.

The reason I went with vbSEO is to allow the site's inner action to breathe. That is what I am hoping for anyways so that we can gain more indexing for differnet niche areas in the site.

I was worried about losing terms at first until I realized that I draw most of the keywords that we are after from the homepage, and with the way we are structured i don't think that will be affected.

We will see, and I am very anxious to get to the core of what vbSEO can do for our site.

Thanks a lot for the interest! You folks are alright!!

Excellent. Expect very positive things deeper into your forum, capitalizing on long tail search queries.

I can see already how vbSEO is going to totally be an asset for our fight to gain attention in the Internet. inner pages are so hard to get seen the deeper you go!

I am excited!

Now, it's a real webmaster forum with the logo change and not a hunting forum. Nice design and fit's the theme perfectly. The animation in the logo is pretty cool. Keep it up with the small tweak's. It all add's up in the end.

Hi LinkHunter. Have you considered implementing the relevant replacements that VBSEO offers?

I also turn on similar threads on my forum. Have you done this?
