Rob, I have the site maps working just fine I figure it is just a waiting game. I just wondered how long you should expect to wait before you see a huge vistor difference. I see my links in the engines and we are starting to move up in the engines I am pleased but like anyone I am excited to see this thing start working.

I was under the impression that the sitemap generator was enabled by default at first.
I installed it a few minutes ago.

This is a good question though.
I was also wondering how soon it usually starts working.

I installed VBSEO and the sitemap generator yesterday. I don't see any increased activity from bots.

One day is hardly enough time... Give it a week and watch the bots.

If your site is already being regularly visited by bots, you will problably not see an increase in activity, just more of the same. On sites that don't get a lot of activity, that is where you see the big change.

My forums, just moved to a new domain, had pretty much no bot activity until I vbseo'd the forums. Now google is hitting over 2000 pages a day, so is yahoo, and each day the total goes up more. It took about 5 days for the bots to gear up, and now they are running wild.

it takes a while for the bots (after the visit) to re-organize your site, drop the old pages, and add the new pages.

It may very well take a month.

it took my aite about 3 weeks, but it was SO worth the couple crappy weeks for the turn around vbseo provdes.

Not sure how you get that from my last post...

All I said was that if you have the bots already crawling your site, you won't see an increase in bot activity, as they are already there and active.

I made no mention of visitors or their activity. We are talking bots, not people.

As for actual live visitors, you will have to wait not only for google to crawl your site, but to index and rank the new pages. Remember, this stuff is not instant and is wholly dependent on the speed at which google indexes and ranks your pages. You will start seeing things happen after a week or so. Then it will steadily increase as your SEO'd pages start to populate google.

I know you must get a lot of support items like this, but I think i have waited a good amount of time to see small changes here and there.

Its been exactly 7 days and i still dont see any more activity from bots or actual unique visitors themselves. I'm not sure if I installed the product correctly or if there is something else I need to be doing.

I installed VBSEO and set the configurations where i thought they needed changing. I installed the sitemap generator and I setup the sitemap on Google and Yahoo!s end as well.

I don't know if there is anything else I can do.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

7 days is not long enough. SEO is not an instant science. You need to be thinking in terms of Months, not Days.

The main thing is to keep your settings consistent once you get them set. Constantly making changes will only hurt you.

Also, keep working on getting new, GOOD content on your site. You currently only have 4700 posts. The more the better.

Google will populate in about 10 days and yahoo is a guessing game so far. I am submitting over 70,000 links a day and I have seen a huge differnce in SEO for my site. I think like any new job you need to give it 90 days to work to know if you like it or not. I rank very high in the search engines and know a bit about SEO in general but this software is much more than I ever thought I knew. if you search for "places to buy medical scrubs" on google I am number 1 AND number 2. give it time is all you have to do to be successful.

Jason
