It is already over 6 months

Hi Everyone,

It is already over 6 months since i have installed VBSEO and to be honest i did not see any improvement on my forum.

Now i am paying google to use their Adwords on top of VBSEO.

May i know where did i do wrong?

Thanks,

Although your site is indexed in Google most of it is in the supplemental index.

That basically means Google only shows your pages when it has no better results from other sites worth showing.

Personally I think this is because of duplicate content because Goggle has indexed mostly the individual posts on your forum.

I'd change the permalink structure and remove the showpost links.

Goto the permaling part of the vBSEO control panel.

Goto > Display Permalink besides Showpost Link

Set as > replace post number link with permalink.

Hi Dave,

If i made that changes, Google and other search engine has to rebuild all the indexed pages?

Actually i am also curious why this option is not set in the first place

Also the option said this

Replace post number link with Permalink
Will replace individual showpost links with the "Permalink" link. Note: Posts will no longer be accessible individually.

Does it mean the user wont be able access the post from Search Engine listing or how is it going to be?

Thank you
Edy

Google already has indexed your threads and posts.

By changing that option your posts will drop out of google index, leaving only the whole threads indexed. Which is what you want seeing as the posts are causing 2 urls with the same text/content.

Rignt now your getting no traffic from having both indexed so by dropping one you will actually increase traffic as google will rank the whole threads rather then neither.

As for the option being set as default.

VBSEO (this site) runs the option i say to set.

It includes lots of options so it can cater for everyone.

Install vBSEO site-map.

Apart from that you look good.

Then be patient, will probably take a few months to see any changes.

- move your css to the file system (in vboptions)
- add some h1 to your pages to denote section headings

with fishing season coming up, i'd run a contest of some sort... something cheap ($50 in lures or something) to attract more people by word of mouth.

IMO, adwords is a bad idea unless you're a store/selling something. You'll never hit your ROI on a forum with it.

contest is a good idea, and include article writing in that contest. You end up paying something out, but you get back articles that are great for natural link building.

The problem with that site is that most of its pages are stuck in Google’s supplemental index.
It’s disturbing to note that more and more vbseo boards are falling into supplementals.
A quick check for the forums listed here http://www.vbseo.com/f84/ will verify that.

Not sure about all those forums, but laughquickly is brand new in terms of content, and I have already posted why norcalmotocross is having problems.

That's contradictory to my recent experience of adding vBSEO to an old forum. In three months I went from getting the dreaded no more content shown because of dupes at page four to All 100 pages showing and no supplimental til page 95. Old sites need to submit old structure urls in a sitemap to accelerate googles recrawling of old links and replacing them.

EDIT: Just did a check of LaughQuicky.com and that is a 0 PR site with very vew pages. Pages are suplimental because there are no links to them.

I also noticed that in the bottom of the website you have links 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and so on.... How do you generate this? Is it any help on SEO?

Thanks,
Edy
