acronym troubles with . and '

Hello there,

Define Acronyms
Enter acronym replacements (1 per line). Acronym expansion will be applied to these keywords as defined in the option above.
NOTE: Acronyms are not case sensitive.

I have a problem with this when applying to my french-language based forum.
The system simply does not work as it should as I experienced some problems with " . " and " ' "

Like OTAN, french for NATO : if written like O.T.A.N. it doesnt work.

What should I do ?

What is exactly the issue you are facing with 'Acronym Expansion' feature?.

ie.
'S.T.O.' => 'Service Du Travail Obligatoire'

does not work
S.T.O. stays as is

However STO is ok
(but not suitable to my forum because of whateverSTOwhatever words)

You should define your acronym without the dot at end:

'S.T.O' => 'Service Du Travail Obligatoire'

Shoud do the trick. And also make sure that you have defined 'REPLACE acronyms as expanded text' in the 'Acronym Expansion' option.

Still not perfect but better
