Tengo una duda sobre la opcion If you have vBSEO, include old urls? del vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator.

Segun ustedes

1 - cuando es recomendable utilizar esta opción?

2 - Y cuanto tiempo es recomendable dejarlo activado?

3 - Al activarlo se pierde posicionamiento de las urls ya indexadas?

Esta es una funcionalidad experimentla que hace que google actualice las páginas indexadas previamente (formato antiguo) a los nuevos, mediante la inclusión del formato de la antigua en el sitemap.

Esto solo debería utilizarse cuando el foro tenía una gran cantidad de páginas indexadas anteriormente.

Todo lo que te he comentado antes debería dar lugar a que esos viejos formatos se actualizaran más rápido.

Una vez que el foro tiene todas las URL en el serps (search engine results page), esta función debería ser desactivada.
