Where did my linkbacks go?

Hi,

Upgraded to the latest version of VBSEO last night, and I've just noticed that many of my linkbacks are now missing. I backed up and restored before and after, respectively. Not sure what happened. I would like to get them back if possible?

Also, I now have a "like" text link in each post, I notice you have it here, is it facebook related? I see you also have a facebook like at the bottom of some posts, is that part of VBSEO too?

I'm on 4.0.5 if that makes a difference.

Our like system has nothing to do with facebook. Please see the annoucement forum for multiple posts about the new like feature.

The facebook like at the bottom is a part of vbulletin. We just moved it's placement.

Linkbacks shouldn't have gone anywhere. If you're referring to Social Bookmarks, they've been moved next to the like button as 'Share' and require a new format as outlined:

I just noticed it, we have a fairly large thread at 1300 posts long and 130 pages, and it gets linked to from all over the place, so I tend to trim the linbacks so that there's nothing with under say 50 hits and then trim it further if needed. The thread is about 18 months old, and all the linkbacks before January have disappeared since the upgrade. I will check other threads too and report back.

Which vBSEO version did you upgrade from. If you go and check your vbseo_linkbacks table do you correctly see all records listed there ?

How do I tell what the previous version of VBSEO was? It was the last one that I received a security bulletin for, not sure if that helps?

Also, when you say the vbseo_linkbacks table, you mean in the database? If so, I haven't looked. It only seems to be the big thread that was affected as far as I can see at the moment.

The new version supports a 'hits' grouping feature. If you had multiple hits from 1 url before, it was a new line item. Now, they are grouped.

That may be why it appears you have less than before.

Hi Brian,

I'm talking about the linkbacks/refbacks that are shown underneath threads. There's definitely been some changes since I upgraded to the latest version, but the actual format of them looks the same as it was, it's just that it seems that random linkbacks have disappeared and been approved/unapproved.

I'm only one of two admins, the account that you used a few days ago is the other, I installed VB using my account, and I believe the other account has the same permissions.

A quick update on this:

I have just checked the thread in question, and the linkbacks stopped sometime in January, around the 8th I believe. Some have returned, but are dated last year. How can this be?

Can you please create a support ticket with further details on how to reproduce the issue?.

We likely will need Admin CP login details and access to phpMyAdmin for further investigation.

Doing this now, as it is getting worse!
