| "vbseocp.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader"
Hi, i just wanted to install VBSEO and got the following error message: "Site error: the file ....vbroot/testvb/vbseocp.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.1.so to be installed by the site administrator." I made the check with the test.php before and it told me to use the ionCube encoded Version of VBSEO. So i did. So what problem do i have now? Do i have to tell my ISP to update ioncube? Gerhard |

Hello Gerhard, please download the latest Ioncube library from PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download and upload it to ioncube/ folder on your host.

Actually, I'm having the same problem right now too... Error Message: The file /var/www/vhosts/mywebpage.com/httpdocs/forums/vbseocp.php cannot be decoded by this version of the ionCube Loader. If you are the administrator of this site then please install the latest version of the ionCube Loader. I downloaded the newest version even before reading this forum. The ioncube-loader-helper.php file says everything is ok, and the ioncube-encoded-file.php that comes with it, says everything was installed correctly and running ok. But still the vbseocp.php file gives me an error. Any ideas? Should I just try going with the other way of decoding? I'm stumped. |

Hello, this error means that you have an older version of Ioncube installed in php.ini and your should update it to the latest version.

I've searched my php.ini, and I don't see a reference to ioncube anywhere in there. I added it, per some instructions I found while searching, and tried doing the threaded and non threaded... just in case. Still the same error. Anything else I could be missing? The test.php files acts like I should have no problem, and the ioncube test file works great too.... |

OK.. I got it. I needed to upload the ioncube file to REPLACE the current file I had on my server. While it was the same version, and nothing changed, it fixed the issue. the ioncube file is located at: /usr/lib/php4/php_ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so I backed up the old file, uploaded and needed to rename the new file, and that cured the problem. |

I believe the test.php should be more forthcoming with this issue, especially when you just went gold.

Agreed... Especially since it's not located in the php.ini file as everyone kept suggesting!!! Instead, the file is: /etc/php.d/ioncube-loader.ini And it is that file that specified where the ioncube library was located. I tried to edit the location in that file, but that didn't work, and the test.php file said it wasn't working too. So that's why I just renamed and replaced the OLD file. That did cure it. Hope this helps someone else in the future. |

Okay, so in case this might help someone: I followed that link in post #2, but didn't know if my host was running windows or linux, and if linux, what version. I located the current ioncube folder and looked inside. The files end in .so. I downloaded both the windows and the linux versions. When I unzipped them, the windows Ion files were .DLL extensions while the linux were .SO. I then copied all files into the ioncube folder already on my server, opted to replace any if the issue came up. I then ran the test file and all was positive. Then I went to the vbSEOcp and everything was fine after that. |

Painthappy, every server is different, and specific paths can and do vary by OS and version of linux. I personally do not have that directive on my RHE 4. I warned the staff that the 5.1 and 5.2 loaders weren't include din the DL package (reason being due to their size) and to make a note of this, but i don't believe that happened. |
