    vbseo work on sub-domain forums?

Sincere apologies for posting this in the wrong area earlier

OK, im posting for two things

1 - for my friend who never ever got help, he owns vbseo

    2. i'm about to purchase vbseo, and install on a subforum like my friend, so hope i dont have the same problem

    He had a sub-domain for example: http://forums.example.com

and that was the only way to access the site

    BUT

All the vbseo url's for categories and things added "www"

so for example, http://www.forums.example.com/category-name/, of course that wouldnt load, because his forums where only accessible that way

He says he showed that SEO Chat Forums - Search Engine Optimization were able to do it, but you guys never gave him help

I have just came into some nice fresh dollars today, and want to put this thing on my forum, BUT, its a sub-domain, and is only accessible like http://forums.example.com

How do i know im not going to have the same problem and you will help

and what is the main cause from the links having the "www" added, ie. how is it removed, so i can buy it, and i can pass the info onto my chum

    Cheers,
    Dave

If you have http://forums.example.com/ set as your Forums URL in vBulletin settings, it should work fine. That's the value vBSEO uses for all URLs.

    Re: vbseo on sub-domain forums

Hello Dave and welcome to vBSEO

vBSEO will work out-of-the-box with in your forums if they are set in http://forums.example.com

Only thing I can think of that would prevent it from working properly in a subdomain is if the vB admincp > vB options > Forum URL is set to http://www.example.com/forums/ or http://www.forums.example.com, as vBSEO uses this setting as a reference to create relative URLs.

If you encounter issues our support team will be more than happy to help you either via the troubleshooting forums or the support ticket system.

ps - I would really like to know who your friend is so that we can help him sort out his issue. Please pm me his info/forum URL when you get a chance.

    Thx!

    Juan,
Does this mean that if I have the vB admincp > vB options > Forum URL is set to http://www.example.com/telephone-forums that I won't be able to have VBSEO work on my site?

    Thanks
