vbseo and sigma chat loggin

I have sigma chat integrated with my vB 3.07 install. I am now having a problem with member's ability to use the authentication script for sigma chat since installing vbseo. The problem only occurs for user with user names with 's in their name example test member can log in, test's member can not.

I am not sure if this is a vbseo issue or a sigma chat issue. I have contacted sigma chat yesterday and I am still awaiting a response.

I read in these forums a post about special characters in user names and the correct profile not appearing. I made the adjustment recommended in that topic, it did not work.

Is it safe to uninstall vbseo, to see if the issue is actually with vbseo or sigma chat?
If so, do I simply remove or rename the vbseo files?

Hi,

I believe this should not be related to vBSEO. You can turn off vBSEO temporarily in vbseocp to check it (there is no need to remove files).

Thank you for the rapid response. I did not think vbseo would have any effect on the issue either. I will go back to the fine folks at sigma and try to pry a response from them.

I went back and disabled vBSEO then also disabled the htaccess file and had no problem logging into the chat. Once I again enable vBSEO and htaccess file I can not access the chat.

This tells me the chat log in problem lies within vBSEO. I suspect it lies with the htaccess file.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thats a trip, I use the same set up however I dont have any problems with the authentication.

The only problem I have is with members using the charcter [ ' ] in their user name. [test member] has no problem using the authentication script those using [test's member] can not.

This issue as been addressed. I would like to thank Juan for his timely attention to fixing this problem.

Now both member's with a 's in their username can enjoy live chat...LOL

Yeah, it's not very nice to leave someone out just because his name has an apostrophe
