vbseo +mobile skin

We have vbseo installed on our forum. Works pretty good..

But.

On a mobile phone it is not possible to change skin (to mobile) it just keeps its normal skin.

When we disable vbseo it works very good.

Are you using a custom skin or a vbulletin supplied skin?
what device are you testing with?

Official Vbulletin skin (delivered with mobile suite)

Working on no device.

Sorry for the verry late answer.
We thought we found the problem in the adminpanel. However its not completely true.

inadmincp>settings>options>Style and language settings we did not have mobile as default mobile skin.
We changed it and users did get mobile skin.

However they cannot change back to pc style on their mobiles.. so the problem still exists ..

They are using Iphone 4s and Alcatel OT-799 and Samsung galaxy s+ ..

Are there any errors displayed? I have neither of those devices so i can't really test that.

No errors displayed.. they simply choose to load the pc skin and the mobile skin comes back again..

It's possible that its a cache issue with the phone itself. Is there a way to do a hard-refresh on either of those phones?

vbseo strips the "?styleid=xx" after performing the change to keep the url consistent and keep link consensus, and the phone browser may not try to load the new skin because of it.

Does this mean that the only way to let user choose between skins i have to uninstall vbseo ?

No ,What Brian said is pretty clear , vBSEO strips ?styleid=xx from urls in order to prevent duplicate url however this doesn't prevent anyone to change their style. I fred changing style on your site and it works without an issue.. What you may be seeing is a browser cache issue.

I Have same issue. If i temporary disable vBSEO, then mobile users can change style. If vBSEO is running, they cant change any style. I disable all my mods, and after i disble also vBSEO, then users can change style.

I see that you have a rule to make "forum.php" look like "forums/".

Do yo still reproduce the issue if you change your rule from:

'^forum\.php$' => 'forums/'

to:

'^forum\.php' => 'forums/'

Now change, and issue continues. And if that rule is empty, issue continues.

vBulletin ver 4.17 all works fine. I skip 4.18 and install 4.19 and then that issue coming. Noting change vbseo admincp.
