Question vbseo and component urls (forum and cms in seperate sub-folders off root)

I filed a ticket and got directed here, but I really can't make sense of it.

At the moment we have the forum in the root folder, we want to move that to /forum and start using the cms, which we'd like to call "news" and have in the new folder.

We use vbadvanced for the homepage, this seems straight forward using the Component URL function - but that of course doesn't work with vbseo - which we certainly don't want to stop using.

Is this possible to have the forum in /forum, the cms in /news and the homepage working off of vbadvanced?

If anyone knows, I'd be massively appreciative.

Correct, component urls should not be used.
vB4 'component urls' should not be used - vBulletin SEO Forums

You don't need to move the forum to have it appear in /forum/. You can simply go in to the forum urls, advanced tab, and copy every rule currently selected into the custom box (if necessary) and add "forums/" before it.

For the cms, you can simply replace 'content' with 'news' in a similar matter to 'fake' the folder path.

vba can stay where it is.

It is a bit more work, but it's the best way to do it.
