I'm having the same problems here. I'm getting an internal server error after I uploaded the htaccess file. I've tried all of the suggestions here and nothing works.

Does your server support mod rewrite? Have you checked your apache error log for more information?

This was fixed by enabling the "rewritebase" line in the .htaccess file.

How about putting a link to that troubleshooting file in the installation instructions guys?

Angry Getting Fed Up w/ Install
Now none of my "last post" links on the homepage are working.

I gotta be honest. I'm really sick of all the problems I've had installing this thing. I've followed every direction exactly, and it's been one problem after another.

If you're thinking about installing this software on your forums, be prepared for your site to go down.

And then, you'll have to wait for support to get back to you through these forums or support tickets to get answers.
