Users cannot login and I can't get into my admincp

I am hosting my site with dreamhost and I put in a ticket with them to see if anything changed on the backend to cause this behavior.

Right now, I cannot login to my site 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse Performance Tuning Forum

On another computer where my login is cached by a cookie, I can be on the site, but I cannot login to my admincp

When you attempt to login to the site, it seems to disregard it and return right back to the /index.php I wanted to touch base with you guys to see if maybe vbSEO could be suspect and how would I disable it through the mySQL database to isolate it from being a potential issue.

    I am running 3.8.6 patch 2 with vbSEO 3.0.0

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm at a loss right now.

Is your admincp behind restricted access?

    Michael,

I try to go to /admincp and it says that I succesfully login then returns me back to the forum listing of the page. I just posted this on vbulletin.com and they another Dreamhost client said they were having the same problem so I think it's Dreamhost that is causing the issue. I'll keep you guys up to date on what's going on.

As always, thank you for the excellent support, vbSEO customer service should be an example on MSNBC LOL

    sounds like a cookie issue.

on server level, they can alter that, so its possible

That was my first thought as well, so on one of my machines I cleared my cookies and I can't login to my site at all. On my other system where my forum session authentication is cached with cookies I can't login to the admincp.

I have two other regional based forum where I am not using vbSEO yet, and I can logout/clear cookies etc on those forums and I can still get in just fine. They are hosted on the same server.

You can disable it in vBSEO CP.

Oleg, I found that I can get to the vbseo cp by browswing straight to /vbseocp.php

But... I can't login to that either :(

Try to temporarily remove .htaccess and includes/functions_vbseo.php files.

If it is a cookie problem, then you can reset it with tools.php. You can locate that file from your vbulletin files in the do_not_upload folder. You need to place it into the admincp.

That will allow you to reset your cookie domain.

EDIT: This is not for disabling vbseo. It is to reset your cookie domain without having access to your admincp. Remove this file when finished.

I went directly into the database and just added a "www." on the front of my forum URL and it seems to be resolving the issue at the moment and giving me enough control to get into the admincp to see what's going on.

Thank you all for your assistance

Maybe by some stroke of fate there was a coincidence this morning. I just received this from Dreamhost:

As a result of this email, I'm going to revert my settings after lunch to drop "www." and see if it was this PHP post error generated by Dreamhost.

I tried to run Tools.php as well. When I entered my member ID it just refreshed the page just like any other login prompt anywhere on the site. Truely a perplexing issue I was having over the past day.

I went back and took out the (www.) in the forum URL and things are still working. I can only conclude it was due to Dreamhost's PHP POST problem.

Again, thank you all for your support.
