URL and subdirectory problem?

Ok i am getting close. I have just installed VBSEO and the main page of our forums work but I have 404's if I try to go anywhere else.

On our server vbulletin was setup so you just go to http://forums.ourdomain.com and then go from there. But there are other apps on the server and in reallity vbulletin lives in a subdirectory /testvb. So now with VBSEO installed all the URL's include /testvb which causes a 404 error. How do I get rid of that?

Well I spoke too soon. That gets rid of the testvb in the URL but it still does not work. I get 404 errors for everything. I have tried uncommenting the RewriteBase. Still nothing.
