Unsupported Sitemap format - Google Error

I took a look at google webmaster tools and found out some detailed information about my site: Triple Triad Extreme - Play Online Free ...

When I opened the sitemap to find out details about how google was doing with the sitemap (since I just installed vbSEO) I found this:

- Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit. Help
Dated June 27th, 2008.

What do I need to do? I am using vbSEO 3.2 and the Yahoo/Google Sitemap add-on.

That's where I was wrong, apparently. The sitemap generator add-on I guess told google it was blank? I did go and add the name of the sitemap URL and it parsed it correctly 8 hours ago. I just need it to index now.

Is it common for them not to index or use that site map that was submitted after a few days?

It takes time to get your content indexed, but using sitemaps should improve the process.

Since the last post, we have had 26,000 URLs in 2 sitemaps, and it only shows 1 has been crawled. We have 2 to 10 googlebots visit the forum pages according to VBSEO and 49 this last sunday (13th). Is it supposed to be this way or is it abnormal? Statistically, we have over 3000 URLS in yahoo, but 83 in google (down from 97 at the time of the last post).

We used to have another domain pointed to the same location as the main URL that is being indexes (thus producing duplicate information). I have just now removed the duplicate domain (with a redirect to the new one). Would that have made a difference?

certainly. having 2 domains to 1 resource is one of the biggest no-no's.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it will take some time to create itself but I hope that it will create better results now.
