    Totally confused.

    Hello there,

I'm trying to install vBSEO and I ran the test to see if my forum is compatible. It said I need to install Zend Optimizer so I went to look for that and couldn't figure out how to install that as well. I go through yahoo small business and when I called them to see how to install Zend, they said I couldn't install it on their servers - not compatible..

Can you please help me out here? This technology stuff is way over my head..

    Thank you.

    Hi Gary,

Try using the Ioncube version, as these loaders are included in the download.

How do I install Ioncube? Would I have to contact Yahoo Small Business to get this installed?

    Thanks for the advice

Most of the loaders come with the vBSEO package.

The newer ones (needed for some servers) can be found at PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download .

The 'install' happens when you upload the package to your server.

If you have any problems with the Ioncube version, just submit a support ticket and we will assist.

    Hello there,

I'm still trying to install vBSEO and I keep running into this error after uploading all the files:

Site error: the file /vB-root/ioncube/ioncube-encoded-file.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_fre_4.3.so to be installed by the site administrator.

I'm trying to install the ioncube because after I typed /vB-root/vbseocp.php I keep getting that same error above.

    Hello,

as I see from your test.php output, neither zend nor ioncube is currently supported. To allow dynamic ioncube loading the following should be corrected by your host:
The setting of extension_dir in the php.ini file is not a directory or may not exist and run time loading will not be possible. You do not need write permissions on the extension_dir but for run-time loading to work a path from the extensions directory to wherever the Loader is installed must exist.

Sorry for the long delayed response. I was in the process of switching servers since yahoo was giving me such a hard time with IonCube. I'm now on bluehost and IonCube is installed.

I uploaded the files to my root directory into a vB-root folder and then I imported the .xml to my adminCP. What now?

    Thanks for your patience

Upload .htaccess to your forum root and then browse domain.com/forum/vbseocp.php set a new password and apply the settings.

Problem is I already have a .htaccess in my root folder (public_html/) because I also run Joomla as my main site. Should I place the .htaccess in my public_html/forums folder instead?

I have vBSEO in my public_html/vB-Root folder.

    Thanks.

You should put it into your forums folder.

... This is getting frustrating.. I now get this error and I have no access to the forum now:

Site error: the file /home/mgrconsu/public_html/forums/vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.1.so to be installed by the site administrator.

I even uploaded the ioncube folder.. I never had so much trouble installing anything in my life. No offense but this is getting irritating.

    Thanks again..

    Hello Gary ,

If you have root access please edit your php.ini and add the following line just before any zend line.
    Code:
    zend_extension = /home/mgrconsu/public_html/forums/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.1.so
After saving please restart your apache. ( P.S : Please check the path to match your ioncube folder )
