Too Many Redirects Error

i have suddenly started facing some too many redirects problem.

On Google Chrome:-

Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.


On Firefox 3:-

Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.

My site in my sig. try opening any thread.

what is the URL that is being redirected? Did you change anything recently?

please open any thread on my forum. this is happening only on threads and only with vbseo enabled.

i was configuring settings. all the threads are throwing that error

Did you customize your URL formats in vBSEO CP? If yes, please try one of URL presets, otherwise please open a ticket with vbseocp password for troubleshooting.

ya i was doing that only. I loaded a preset now and all's well.

i think i'll have to set everything again.

okk... i found my mistake.

I had put the same rewrite settings for 'Thread URL format' and 'Newest Post in Thread' Redirect that resulted in endless loop.

I have exactly the same issue, and its impacting my high seo page landing.

Please can some one let me know, how to fix the issue.

I have also put in a support ticket.

This is happening to only the archive pages, the rest of the pages looks

fine.

What could have broken my archive?

I have placed a support ticket and they are exploring the 'htaccess' route.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also got two error emails from vbulletin

To load URL preset, look in vbseocp.php settings.

btw.. its highly recommended by vbseo to disable vbulletin's archive completely so why dont you simply turn it off.

The archive files, that are not working now, get high SEO ranking. There are 10-15 of them top 2 in google.

I dont want to lose them.

So to make it clear,

1. Vbulletin has its own archive pages.

2. Do you want me to disable it and let vbseo build the archive for me?

In VBSEO archive i have

Rewrite + 301 redirect VB's Archive

Also it used to work until a few days back, till it broke, and i get mysql errors, so could it be some DB related issue.

Any clues on how to go about fixing this?

It was an htaccess issue, my host fixed the issue.
