Arrow test.php finds nothing installed

I have just run test.php at http://www.broadbandbanter.co.uk/test.php?info=1 which tells me that neither zend or ioncube are available to me.

Because of the other stuff I have already on the server, I want to do the least amount of configuration changes possible on the server. Which is simpler to install (and the least configuration changes), zend or ioncube?

It has this note:

Quote:
The setting of extension_dir in the php.ini file is not a directory or may not exist and run time loading will not be possible. You do not need write permissions on the extension_dir but for run-time loading to work a path from the extensions directory to wherever the Loader is installed must exist.

I don't understand what this bit means.. what extensions directory?

I have run ioncube's own test file and it says it's working OK.

Re: test.php finds nothing installed

I'd say ionCube (using the runtime loaders) is the easiest way. However, both methods are fairly straightforward and standard. Ioncube run-time loaders require safe mode = off AND that your server configuration has the dl() function enabled.
