your html may be valid, but your css is not

    Errors

    URI : http://www.worldfootballforums.com/c...0b92-00002.css

    • Line: 283 Context : #footbg Invalid number : background-position 420px is not a background-position value : left 420px
Low and behold, #footbg is the div in question too

    Hey Brian,

Thanks for that.... a little non standard CSS always creeps through and it had the needed functionality in all browsers.... however it's far short of being a fix.

The selector (footbg) is constant regardless of being logged in or out.... and the background property could never have bearing on layer position.

This weirdness only happens whilst logged out. login and it goes away.

    I fixed it eventually....

It was caused by closing a div element to early.
Painstaking comparison of 1700+ lines of logged in / logged out code revealed my error.

Thanks for taking the time to help though
