Strange loading times

Some of my users have had trouble posting links in threads. From what I saw, they were purely Youtube related links. I have a way of embedding Youtube video via bbcode and those load fine, but when it comes to a page that either has a video already embedded or a page on Youtube itself, things hang. It'll hang for about 45 seconds or so and then finally load. I'm fairly certain this is linked to vBSEO since I tested all my plugins and the problem went away with vBSEO disabled.

I was also having a hard time getting into the vbseo cp via the admin CP. Checking for a version update via the plugin manager also threw a network timeout. See attachement.

Oh, this is with vBSEO 3.3.0 and vB 3.8.2

may be your host blocks outgoing http connections, please try to disable "Add titles to external links" option in vBSEP CP.

Ah, that was it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Oleg.

It ended up being a problem in /etc/resolv.conf where one of the nameserver entries was timing out.
