Special Chars in Metatags

I got a german board and the german language got these special chars like ä,ä,ü ....

There are not rewritten in the metatags ... :(
Isnt that a feature or can it be solved ?

Hi,
I suppose it's fine to include these characters in the metatags. How exactly do you suggest to rewrite (replace/remove?) them?

Its ok in the current way they are rewritten, but i need the special chars for german language also in it.

example:
german "gästebuch" is actual rewritten in "gstebuch"
So then its the wrong keyword for the searchengines.
