Post special characters get not replaced when getting external link titles
Hi

I noticed that here on vBSEO special characters like german umlaute are not replaced by their utf8 equivalent instead they are removed.

I added the umlaut instead of "UE" as replacement.

Sorry.

The right link is now fixed.

The charset you are using is the one I use too, Umlaute should be displayed normally.
I think it is the function that pulls the page title from the website.
If it finds Umlaute, it removes them instead of replacing them by like "UE" for "Ü"

Replacement is only applied to URLs, not to the retrieved titles.

but why strip special characters then if your charsets supports them?

It happens because of the beta feature we are working on to automatically recode charsets in these cases.
