Social Groups Stopped Working After Upgrade

Social Groups Stopped Working After Troubleshooting my plug-ins i found that it was VbSEO that was the culprit.

Anyone else have this problem?

Is there a fix yet?

I had to turn off my SEO until it gets fixed so my members can use their social groups.

I have the same problem. This problem also extends to user photo albums.

It appears that vbSEO is not parsing the URLs for individual social groups or user albums, making it impossible to navigate to them and make use of their features.

Here are example links:
Album link, instead links to a general list of albums for a particular user. It seems the parsing stops after "albums"

Social Group link, instead links to a general list of available social groups.

Like Hal said just when ever you try to navigate to groups it just loads for ever and then goes nowhere.

I didn't check to see if it was affecting my Albums.

i turned off VbSEO until i can fix it in order to return the functionality to my members.

let me know if you need me to do something to help fix the problem.

thank you for your assistance.

After adding the group id to the URL (and the album id to the url) this problem has been fixed.

Please search for URL Rewrite Settings in vBSEO Control Panel. Inside Forum URLs box you'll see the following Advanced Settings (+ / -). You need to click + to expand the settings. When the settings are expanded you need to check for Social Group Rewrite Options and add groupid to rewrite rules.

Ok, I'm a bit clueless with this stuff. I have the error as well. I went to:

forum urls
social group urls

after that I do not see or understand the instructions above. Someone says " you have the groupID in the url strucutre as a first test-case." huh? What is a test case? another person says: "check for Social Group Rewrite Options and add groupid to rewrite rules." I see no option called :Social Group rewrite options" and if i did see it not sure what i do? Can anyone provide 100% specifics on exactly what I need to do? Thanks!

in vbseocp.php

find:
Forum URLs
Select Your Forum URLs Global Format

and just under the preset drop down,
Advanced Settings (+ / -)

click the + to expand.

scroll to

Social Group NEW!

change all the social group options that contain [group_name] to [group_id]

ie,
groups/[group_name]/
to
groups/[group_id]/

or, make a custom rules that include both, like

groups/[group_name]-[group_id]/

this will put the group ID in the url and remove the ambiguity problem that you're most likely facing.
