Sitemap Problems

I am getting eth following error when I go look at the reports for site maps... also the /sitemap_index.xml link on my site comes back as broken.... :-(

I have changed the neccessary file on the server 0666 but still this error shows.

Any ideas would be handy

/home/pforum/public_html/vbseo_sitemap/data/downloads.dat file is not writable, make sure that it has 0666 permissions

Please make sure that you have set the following permissions:

vbseo_sitemap/ folder: chmod 755
files inside vbseo_sitemap/ folder: chmod 644
vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder: chmod 777
vbseo_sitemap/data/downloads.dat file: chmod 666

Yeah they are exactly as you have shown above :-(

Please open a support ticket with FTP and Admin CP login details for troubleshooting.

Actually, I am unable to change the permissions of the .dat file

This was possibly related to my recent server move. I was unable to change file permissions for the .dat folder (also couldn't delete the sitemap/data folder). I ended up just renaming the sitemap/data folder and redownloading the files. Sitemaps working properly after this

The old server had chown'ed it to itself. You need to chown it to your new server as the owner, or do as you did and rename it so the system creates a new one.
