sitemap password rejected

I have vb 3.6.5 and vbseo gold. I set the /vbseo_sitemap/ password in cpadmin but when I try to log in it does nothing (rejects it). What next?

Do you set password protection using .htaccess? If so, please the troubleshooting.txt entry #20:

20) I have a problem accessing vB admincp: 404 error is displayed or page is redirected to forums homepage

If you have restricted access to your admincp folder using .htaccess (Auth directives), please check
your apache configuration: having "ErrorDocument 401 401.shtml" directive in httpd.conf requires that
"401.shtml" file exists. You should create one if it doesn't to solve the problem.

I have no problem getting into vb cpadmin.

It is vbseo's sitemap that is the problem.

When I go yo mydomain/vbseo_sitemap/ it asks me for a password. I have set that and changed it and tried it in cpadmin BUT vbseo's sitemap does not accept it!!!

Please open a support ticket with admincp access for troubleshooting.
