Sitemap Error in Google - help please

    Hi all,
I hoped that the problem would fix itself, but it still has not. In Google, webmaster tools, when looking at my sitemap information it show errors. I am not sure why or how to fix the problem. I just do not understand what is causing this issue. I am worried it is a setting I set a year ago when I installed VBSEO. For understanding purposes, I attach two images showing the warning.

Image 1 - is the listing of the sitemap pages. Only one has no warning.

Image 2 - is page 4 expanded to show the error. I click on the link and it goes right to the post. I am not sure what I am supposed to edit since the site map is generated by the sitemap generator I downloaded from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks folks!

    Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? ;)

    Hello,

it's recommended to disable "Include old URLs" option in Sitemap Generator settings in vB admincp once you have vBSEO running for a while and your old URLs are already replaced with new SEOed URLs in SE index.

Thanks Oleg! You are always so quick to help people here. I just changed the setting to 'no'. For future reference & so others reading this will know: How long is long enough to have this setting set to yes? Is there a way to tell when it is time to change it? I installed in Jan and the error showed up in google in May.

Thanks again for your help and quick response!

    Cheers,

You might want to check Google search for the query like site:http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/ inurl:"showthread.php" - ????? Google
Once it returns no results, your old URLs are gone from SEs and you can disable that option.

Also, you should remove all sitemap*.gz files from data/ folder and re-generate sitemap since you will have less sitemap files created now.

    Thumbs up VBSEO is great!

I followed the instructions here and today when I checked this is what I found.

I noticed also that it says "Most sites will not have all of their pages indexed." heh...

    Thanks to VBSEO we do!

    Thanks again for the help!
