could you please open a support ticket with details on your average server load with vBSEO disabled and enabled?

What was the outcome of this?

We have a few boards with over 1,000,000 posts and were thinking of installing it on them if all goes well with our first install on: Minimoto Planet

For the larger boards that have server load issues we suggest trying the beta version of the next vBSEO version (3.0.1):
Big-Board Forums - Beta testers needed

    Hi,

Not sure if I should open up a new thread. But since last week, VBSEO made our site slow every time I turned it on.

We installed VBSEO 1 year ago. No problem until last week. With VBSEO on, we got something like: 60 members, 80 guests. Turning it off, The number is like 60 members, 15 guests.

It slows down all the pages on our website--store, photo gallery, forum (all use database) except the homepage Hip Girl Boutique! Hair Bows, Hair Clips, Ribbon And More which is a static page.

I tried the VBSEO optimize tip posted on this forum. I even disabled more functions. Still doesn't work.

    We only have 223,000 posts. I don't think it's a large board.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

    Michelle

    Hello,

If the site was working fine for a year and suddenly caused a slow down, I would look to the host/server for a problem/issue. Odds are, you didn't cross a post/member online issue over night. It has to be server-related.

From the sounds of it not effecting the static page, something mysql related?

Thanks for the reply. I upgraded vbulletin from 3.6.8 to 3.8.3. It's OK now.

    Thanks.

Also would like to add that VBSEO is a very nice add on. (Please see attached image from Google analytics . VBSEO was disabled on 7/31/09). But once you install it, seems that you cannot get rid of it--all the links didn't work when VBSEO was disabled.

Although certainly not recommended, vbseo CAN be un-installed. You simply have to direct your traffic back to the old dynamic links:
