    setup woes

    Hey Guys!

I hope I dont come out of this looking like a total moron dweeby neewby. However I have just installed and cant seem to get it to work.
My settings are vanilla, all URLs look like they are getting re-written - however if I follow any of them, I get a 404.

I have uncommented the rewrite line in the .htaccess and I have tried a number of different paths (absolute server path with and without trailing slash, relative with and without).

Im stumped. Please help a begging man.

Did you check the troubleshooting.txt? Maybe you`ve forgotten to upload the install.xml? Ensure you have uploaded the vBSEO (vbseo-install.xml) file via the vB Plugin/Hook System and that it is activated and enabled in the admincp.

    Re: setup woes

    Hi,

please make sure that mod_rewrite is installed at your host and it is allowed to specify rewrite rules in .htaccess file. Also, check if .htaccess was uploaded correctly in ASCII mode (php files are uploaded in binary though )

    Hello The Geek

In the readme file you can find

Upload ALL the files in the 'upload' folder to your forum root folder in BINARY mode.
Please check if the files are uploaded in BINARY mode.

    Re: setup woes

Pretty sure they are - Ive uploaded them 2 different ways.

Im in middle of upgrading my site to vb3.5 so am a bit manic right now and wouldnt be surprised to find I have skipped or messed something up.

Anyone have 5 minutes to spare? Ill pay for installation or throw in some geek license - whatever.

    Thanks!
