    Server load

    Hi

Before I installed vbseo, I used to send community bulletins with ease (no serverload, extra queries, etc).

After I installed vbseo, I tried to send community bulletin, however, instead of a smooth operation, the server load increased dramatically and it added 3 extra queries on homepage?

    Regards

Hello emin and welcome to the boards,

Based on the data displayed in your homepage, vBSEO adds two (2) queries, not three (3). At a nominal load of .3 (in apache) the first query would add approximately .001 secs. overhead and the second, being the most "expensive", is the retrieval of members usernames, and adds approximately .01 secs. in post-processing time.

You can save the most "expensive" query by disabling member rewrites. However, we've seen that the impact is negligible, even on overloaded servers. Your best bet is using the rewrite rules in httpd.conf instead of .htaccess in which case I need to give you some special rules, please pm me for more information on this approach.

    Hi Juan,

the problem persists! I have switched to httpd.conf and yet the load and the extra queries are there.

Remember that the queries (and server load) increase when I attempt to send the community bulletin (news letter). Before I installed, I could send it with ease with no added server load or queries.

    Regards

    Hello emin,

the extra queries are required to rewrite URLs in the emails sent. If you prefer to keep them non-rewritten, you may disable "Rewrite Emails" in vbseocp.
