    Ran the Check Program but IonCube error

    When I ran the pre-sale check program it said I was good to go with IonCube. However, I just bought your program and installed it. My forum was brought to a halt and I got this error message. I looked in the Doc's troubleshooting text file and didn't see anything addressing this.

    The file /var/www/vhosts/tdpri.com/httpdocs/forum/vbseo.php cannot be decoded by this version of the ionCube Loader. If you are the administrator of this site then please install the latest version of the ionCube Loader.
    What do I do to fix this?
    PS. I would be much happier if the check program had given me a heads up about this.

    If your host is loading an older version of ionCube via PHP.INI, you'll need to get them to upgrade to the latest loaders. Normally, uploading the ionCube folder under your forums directory will work, but that won't override PHP.INI settings.

    I have a dedicated server, so what's best. Change the php.ini file to remove the pre-installed loader path? Or what?

    Could you be a bit more specific of steps to take.

    I'll be taking the steps myself, so I just need a bit of a walk thru. I did upload the ioncube folder and saw the loaders there. So, I have to guess that I have my php.ini file trying to load some of these too from somewhere? Correct?

    In PHP.INI t here should be a line similar to this:

    zend_extension = /home/username/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so

    (The filename at the end may be different, depending on your loader's location and version.) You should be able to just update that line to point to the location of the new loaders.

    Humm, I'm looking at my php.ini file now.

    There isn't any "zend_extention" line.

    I did find: extension_dir = /usr/lib/php4

    And I also found:

    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    ; Dynamic Extensions ;
    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    ;
    ; If you wish to have an extension loaded automatically, use the following
    ; syntax:
    ;
    ; extension=modulename.extension
    ;
    ; For example:
    ;
    ; extension=msql.so
    ;
    ; Note that it should be the name of the module only; no directory information
    ; needs to go here. Specify the location of the extension with the
    ; extension_dir directive above.
    I can find no mention of ioncube at all in my php.ini file.

    What do I do?

    I looked in /usr/lib/php4 and found
    php_ioncube_loader_lin_4.2.so
    php_ioncube_loader_lin_4.3.so
    php_ioncube_loader_lin_4.4.so

    I'm using PHP 4.3.9

    But now looking at my php info I see:

    This program makes use of the Zend Scripting Language Engine:
    Zend Engine v1.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2004 Zend Technologies with the ionCube PHP Loader v3.0.10, Copyright (c) 2002-2005, by ionCube Ltd.

    Maybe that will help. Do I need to copy the .so files from your upload to my /usr/lib/php4 directory?
