    Problems with installing...

    Hi Guys,

I have started the install process today.

I have just uploaded all the files exactly as per instructions in binary mode. Have uploaded the .htaccess file and... all I get is 404 error.

From the control panel I can't even import the product file because of the same 404 error.

I didn't have any other .htaccess files before this one on the server.

Now, when I delete the .htaccess file, my forums are back online.

The only thing that is different about my site,
is that the forums run from the root folder instead of /forums, etc.

Also, I have noticed that in the .htaccess I have a line specifying "admincp" and "modcp", which on my site exist under different folder names.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

If your admincp and modcp directory names have changed, update the names in .htaccess to match.

Ok, that allowed me to install the product. Thanks

However my website is giving me now a 500 error:

    Error 500: Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

    any ideas?

    Thanks again,

Your server doesn't like something in the .htaccess file. You can remove it and remove the vBSEO product to get your site back working.

Then please submit a support ticket with temporary AdminCP and FTP logins to troubleshoot.

    Thanks
