    Periodic PHP Errors

Since installing vBSEO on our boards, we get periodic PHP errors (around 15 on any given day). Here are a few examples:
    Code:
PHP Fatal error: Corrupted encoded data detected in /usr/home/xxx/public_html/includes/functions_vbseo.php on line 0
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/home/xxx/public_html/includes/class_postbit.php(283) : eval()'d code on line 23
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/home/xxx/public_html/global.php(513) : eval()'d code on line 16
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected ')' in /usr/home/xxx/public_html/includes/functions_databuild.php on line 304
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected '>' in /usr/home/xxx/public_html/forumdisplay.php(1008) : eval()'d code on line 655
The weird thing is that I cannot reproduce them. A few of our staff have posted some errors they've come accross, and I've gathered the rest from our server error logs.

I've reuploaded the vBSEO files (in binary, of course ) but it doesn't seem to fix anything. I'll try this again right now, just to be sure.

But I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas for me I tried a search, but nothing really came up, I hope I'm not blind

Perhaps you should re-download the vBSEO file from the Download link in the USer CP area. As your download might have been corrupted - also have you made any changes to the ./vbseocp.php settings file? There have been instances where this has been corrupted when trying to save data to it, and thus producing php error messages.

    Hello ePressive!

    The Zend Knowledge Base says:

Fatal error: Unable to read #### bytes in /path/to/script/encoded_script.php on line 0.

    or:
Fatal error: Corrupted encoded data detected in /path/to/script/encoded_script.php on line 0

    ...

Files encoded by the Zend Encoder/SafeGuard Suite are actually binary files. The error message indicates that the files were copied as ASCII files. This usually happens when you transfer files using FTP in ASCII mode.

As Michael said, you may have corrupted files before uploading? (since you are sure you've uploaded them in binary)

I would also suggest to upgrade Zend Optimizer version (if applicable).

I've redownloaded the files and reuploaded them again. I've also looked at the config file generated by vbseocp.php, everything looks fine in there.

We're running Zend Opt 2.5.10 with PHP 4.4.1. If errors continue, I suppose upgrading Zend Opt to 2.6 will be worth a try.

Thanks for your comments We'll see if reuploading the files works, hopefully that is the cause. I remember trying it before though with no success, but I cannot remember if I also redownloaded them from the UserCP here.

You can only download the files from the User CP. I am currently running Zend Optimizer 2.5.10 with PHP 4.4.0 therefore i dont think that upgrading later version would remove this particular error.

Well, our error logs are still showing those periodic errors. :( Any other ideas?
