    Open and Closed Threads Merged

I'm having a problem editing a thread after having merged a closed thread into the open thread which had the poll in it.

The thread became closed, i reopened it and the poll remained closed.

The problem is, i cant re-open or even TOUCH the poll.
VBulletin.com told me it was a problem with VBSEO
    Thanks,
    Dan

VBulletin.com said: "First vBSEO is a major add-on and frankly it's one that causes a lot of problems in my experience. I am certain that ytou would not have these problems with the original vB code and your third-party add-ons removed."
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Danny,

That is the vBulletin standard first response to any problem on a board with hacks and mods included. But you should always test any problems you see with ALL your mods. If you have more than just vbseo added to your forum, you also need to check those mods too... It could be any one of them, or any combination.

I was seeing all kinds of weirdness with vbseo (or so I thought) until I disabled another mod I had installed which was causing all the trouble.

So what do i do? Disable plugins all together?

I've already edited the post time on that post.

The original post that needed to be edited was an open post with a poll. I then edited the post time of that post by using
    Code:
UPDATE post SET dateline='xxxxxxxxxx' WHERE postid='yyy'
to give it an earlier post date so as to prepare that post to be merged with another post that was closed (I wanted the edited post to show up ahead of the other post, which is why i chose to edit it). After having merged the open thread with a closed thread that thread became closed and so did the poll.

Now i cant edit the poll or re-open it be cause i get the following message:
Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
The "edit" poll link is pointing to I thought i remembered what the poll number was so i added
    to it, but no luck.

I just want to reopen this poll or edit it in some way.

    [edit]
I did what you said and turned off my boards, disabled plugin/hook system all together and even removed the vbseo ht.access temporarily.

    Still no luck.
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Do some basic debugging.

Here is what I would do:

Disable vbseo and see if the behavior stops. If yes, re-enable it, and turn off all other mods. If the behavior is still there, you know it is vbseo. If not, then one at a time enable the other mods you have with vbseo while keeping vbseo running, and test each case. When you find the combo of mods with vbseo that causes the problem, disable vbseo and see if the other mod that causes the problem does so only with vbseo, or in any case...

If you find the only vbseo enabled is the issue, let them know here. If you find a combo with vbseo that causes the problem, determine if you need that mod or if a fix would be easier by changing that mod, or forward your findings to the vbseo team so they know what the conflict is.

    im desperate here...
I disabled ALL mods and it still didn't work.

I asked the same question at VBulletin.com, but i'm not sure if anyone is going to help me over there. You guys are a little more helpful over here and just knowing that you guys are experienced in these situations (even if it MIGHT NOT be related to VBSEO) you can maybe help me here.

    You know?
    Thanks,
    Dan

There is a similar bug in vBulletin bugtracker: vBulletin > Bug: Poll Deleted On Thread Merge

perhaps it has been fixed for inline moderation only.
