It has come to my attention that if a thread is not found, the File Not Found request handling found in VBSEO Settings does not apply. Why is this the case? In any event, a 404 error is thrown, and a generic error message is sent by vBulletin:

I had spent a great deal of time working on a custom 404.php and template to recommend Google site search and also vBulletin advanced search. I was also planning on implementing "Similar threads" as a possible option for the 404 page. Unfortunately, I found that I have to duplicate my template work by editing the "noid" phrase directly.
Why is this the case? Shouldn't the File Not Found request handling in VBSEO overwrite these internal vBulletin settings? This is compelling, especially for forum owners who have set it to redirect to the homepage. They may be led to believe that this will happen with all pages, when that is not actually the case.
Can any of the developers respond regarding this? It looks, from my perspective, that the File Not Found request handling feature is not complete if the noid message and other similar content not found error messages are displayed by vBulletin.
Of course the message herein is: No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator
There may be other areas where the message is also thrown, instead of the VBSEO setting.
