    no yahoo

    In my sitemap generator reports, Yahoo notify is all "no" on 300+ pages of the report. I submitted my site in September and placed the y_ file in my root directory. What am I missing here that Yahoo is not getting notified?

    In my sitemap reports area, main page it shows this

    That file does not even exist. If I click it, I get the below

    You need to chmod 777 your vbseo_sitemap/data folder and all files within that folder

    Ok, but what about the other two issue? The missing xml.gz file and the "no" for yahoo notification?

    it doesn't exist because it can't write out to data.

    sitemap.xml.gz DOESNT exist. it's htaccess'ed out to /vbseo_sitemap/data/sitemap_xxxxx like that.


    as for yahoo, you need to obtain a yahoo api key. there's a link in the ACP options
    for the sitemap.

    Ok, but then why is the vbseo sitemap page showing the path to root instead of inside the vbseo directory? I already corrected the permission and re-ran site map generator. The path for the Google sitemap index url remained the same, so does the error message.

    Also, for Yahoo I already ran it in September as I mentioned before. I already have the html page in /root directory as it said to place it. I'll do it again, but what should the path be for the site feed?

    In root, I have the yahoo html file that it told me to place

    You donot need a yahoo key anymore. Yahoo is not getting notified because you cannot create any sitemap correctly. You need to correct the permissions as i explained and re run sitemap generator.

    I made it clear in my last post that I corrected the permissions and re-ran the sitemap generator. The path for Google is showing up the same and there is none for Yahoo.

    I re-ran sitemap generator yet again. I still see this

    Thanks for the help. Its working now. This is what I noticed, the ftp program was not properly setting the permissions (fireftp in firefox). I fixed that manually via command line.

    I also upgraded to 3.1.0 vbseo and 2.1 sitemap generator. Yahoo already shows "yes" for notification. Added 5k url's right off the bat
