no links work now ?

I have a small issue, I was using someones custom seo settings, i don't remember who, but they are focusing on the forum titles, and thread_id's and such.. I've been using it and it's worked great, but I'm going to try the same settings, but I want the thread titles. to show also.. so I went in vbseocp and changed most the settings that were thread_id to thread_title..

and i went and updated some of my counters in ACP,, but none of my thread links work ? is there something specific that I need to update as for counters ?

http://locoforum.com is the site, as u see I have a "topXstats" and none of the links work,, even if I go right to the thread, I can't view.. I'm getting ready to try 2.4.1 so maybe this will change soon..

I'll do some searching and see if I can find the issue..

i fixed my issue, but I don't understand why they didn't work b4, on the newpost, go to thread..

i had it set as a custom setting, and now it's one of the default options and it works.. I should have pasted what I had b4, so maybe you could tell me why it wasn't working, but all I did was change thread_id to thread_title on a few things,,
anyways I'll play some more, and this thread can be closed,moved or w/e u want

I'm gald it works fine for you now. [thread_id] is a required part for thread-related URLs, so this is probably the reason why you had an issue.

Please also note, that it's not recommended to change your URL format settings, because your old links will be not working after that (and you will lose your indexed pages in SEs and inbound links from other sites). Ideally, you should choose your URL formats once at the time of vBSEO installation and stick to it.

ah, I understand.. I was removing the thread_id so this must be why I was having issues..

about losing the indexed pages, I'm not to concerned about it, because I'll be changing url's shortly and lose those pages anyways..
but I do understand that this isn't something you want to change every day, or week.. This is why I was changing it now, because as I said I'll be changing url's shortly, and I won't want to change settings after the switch.. thx for the response about the thread_id having to be part of the url..
