    Need help with cmps_index.php

I recently upgraded to 2.2.0. Here is the issue that I am facing now. Before I upgraded, I could not figure how how to get my portal file to rewrite.

I wanted "/bulletin/cmps_index.php" to rewrite as "/bulletin/index.html" and I wanted to set this as the homepage and redirect any links to this as a forced hompage and root of my forum.

I couldnt get it to work before I upgraded and now that I upgraded both vb 3.5 > 3.51 and vbSEO 2.1.0 >2.2.0 - I can't seem to even get the cmps_index.php file to pull up in the browser... its giving me this error:

    Code:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: print_portal_output() in /****/*********/public_html/bulletin/cmps_index.php on line 35
But I know it wasn't the install that I messed up on, it must be a setting somewhere either in .htaccess or in the vbSCEO admin panel becuase the rewrite is working if you visit the forum root.

Can someone please help me optimize for best results with the vbadvanced cmps_index.php portal entrance?!

    Thanks for your time.

NM.. I figured it out.. since I upgraded vBulletin to 3.5.1, I probably need to make the file edits necessary for vbadvanced portal to even show up.

Yep, you nailed it. Until the product version of CMPS comes out, you have to remember to re-edit global.php when you upgrade.

Thanks for the confirmation. Index is working now, yet still not rewriting.

How should I set my .htaccess file and my settings in the vbseo admin cp:

    Specifically:
    Homepage Settings
    Force Forum Root as Homepage?
When enabled, all links to your forum homepage will be directed to 'vbroot/'. If disabled, your forum homepage links will point to the 'script name' (E.g. forum.php) as defined in your vBulletin configuration settings. This allows users with high PageRank in 'index.php' to use it as their default homepage.

Should I set this to Yes or No ???

    Also
    Define Homepage Aliases
This feature will help consolidate PR (Google PageRank) in your forum homepage. Many established forums will have different PRs in forum home (usually up to three), as an example:

    www.yoursite.com/forums/ (PR = A)
    www.yoursite.com/forums/index.php (PR = B)
    www.yoursite.com/forums/index.php? (PR = C)

I currently have the following aliases listed in the box:
    cmps_index.php
    cmps_index.php?
    index.php?
    index.php

Is that correct? or should I include the full URLs?

If your forums are in a sub-directory, and CMPS is in the root of your site, you can't currently use vbSEO to handle it. You would need to put a custom .htaccess file in your root.

That is what I would like to do. I want to redirect all traffic from the site root

    /public_html/ >> /public_html/bulletin/cmps_index.php

    and

    /public_html/bulletin >> /public_html/bulletin/cmps_index.php

What is the correct synatx to use in the .htaccess file verbatim?

Thanks for you quick replies ConqSoft, its really apprecieatted!

I have seen others rename cmps_index.php to index.php, but I think this would overwrite the forum home would it not?

You would first need to rename your vBulletin index to something like forums.php, then edit your vBulletin Options to tell it that the new "index" name is "forums". After that, you could rename your CMPS index to index.php.

    Instructions for that here: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25

Now I have noticed that my vbadvanced gallery script is not working either.
What needs to be done to get it back online?

    Man I hate upgrades!

    Hi,

your gallery link looks like /bulletin/gallery/index.php, while it should be /gallery/index.php, I believe.

Just re-run the Gallery install file and choose the Install Templates Only option. That will correct the Blank Page problem you're having now.

I installed the vbagallery inside the vbulletin root as instructed in the install. It has worked nicely up until now where it currently resides. I didnt change the link or location.

    Go figure... any idea?

thanks Conqsoft.. i will see if that does it.. report back soon.
