    Need help again

We've now got the vbseo installed on photocamel (the forum is installed in the /forum directory.

    Seems to be working fine.

I just also installed the sitemap generator, but here's my question:

I got up to the point where I'm supposed to modify the .htaccess file that's currently in the /forum/ directory. Trouble is, that file looks like it already has most or all of what is specified for inclusion.

I don't want to mess that file up.

What should I do? How do I know that the sitemap thing is working?

    Thanks.

You shouldn't need to modify the .htaccess at all. The vBSEO Sitemap rules are already included in the vBSEO .htaccess.

Make sure you're running vBSEO Sitemap 1.7, which is only available in the downloads area here on vbseo.com.

Thanks. You should rewrite the instructions, then, because they'll have folks puzzled.

The sitemap lines are already in the .htaccess, so I guess the original documentation just assumed that people would see them already there.

Also, for those not running vBSEO, they would need to make the edits.

But your instructions do not say this, nor should instructions "assume" anything unless those assumptions themselves are stated. Directions are key! Documents are part of the product. If they're wrong, the product is flawed.
