    my forums quit working, HELP!

    the main forum page loads, but I am getting 404 errors for everything else.

    Microsoft Front Page wasnt working, so I uninstalled and reinstalled front page extensions. Other than that I have done nothing.

    Make sure that you still have .htaccess file in place and check in phpinfo() that you have mod_rewrite enabled.

    I have an .htaccess file in my forum named .htaccess.1132101298,

    Not sure if that is the correct one or not.

    Where do I check phpinfo?

    weird, I am guessing that when I reinstalled front page, it added those numbers onto the .htaccess file, as it had the info that it was supposed to have in it.

    Created a new .htaccess file with the same contents and all is working. Weird.

    Yes, you can delete the extra .htaccess file. These are backups created by FP.
