    Moved Domains, Problems Started

    Hello,

I've moved my site from its development domain to the main domain, and URL rewrites stopped working.

I didn't change a single thing besides the domain in the vB configuration options. I also copied the new key into the vBSEO CP and saved (it turned green).

Has anyone experienced this before or know how to fix it?

    Thanks.

Please PM me the URL of your main domain, so I can ensure it is the same as what we have on file for you.

You can also verify this yourself via your license list on the downloads page:

I'm pretty sure it's the same. The only difference is the trailing slash.

Right now I'm setting up a copy of the site at the development domain again to see if it works there for some reason.

what joe is saying is that each vbseo license is set up for 1 domain and 1 domain only.

if you bought with yourtest.com and now are on yourlive.com it won't work. which is why he wants the url of the live site to update it in the vbseo system.

The domain on the license is the live site's domain.

A while back I had the development domain added temporarily.

Am I not coming across clearly? Everyone seems to assume I know nothing about anything.

Anyway, I have an exact copy of the live site at the test domain again, and vBSEO works there, even though the vBulletin (and, consequently, vBSEO) options specify the main domain as the forums root. That makes me think it's a problem on vBSEO's part. Perhaps disabling the development domain on my license will "enable" the main one to work. I've replied to my original ticket with this info as well. I hope it works!

Just out of curiosity, does the URL in your license have the "http://" part? I vaguely remember the previous one having it, and now it doesn't.

As long as your license key is green, the license URL is fine.

Well, the license key is in green, but it still functions as if the vB product were disabled.

That made me think the cause was my vB installation at the new site, but upon exactly copying the site to the development domain again and seeing it work just fine there, I concluded that it's license- or vBSEO-related. However, I still cannot get it to work on the main domain no matter what I try.

And both sites are on the same server, using the same PHP settings, same Zend or ionCube versions, etc?

    Yes, yes, and yes.

I simply moved the contents from one folder to another on the computer, and then changed the domain in the vB Admin CP and vBSEO CP.

I have absolutely no idea how this fixed it, but I:
    1. Created a new subdomain on the test site.
    2. Put another exact copy of the live site on there.
    3. Tested it out to find that vBSEO worked there too.
    4. Deleted the new subdomain.
When I went back to check on the live site, I saw that vBSEO had mysteriously decided to start working. I'm still clueless but relieved. I have spent way too long trying to fix this.
