    Linking Problem After VBSEO install

    Hi.

I have a weird linking problem after installing VBSEO. I have vbAdvanced as my home page on my forum called 'index.php'. However, some of my forum links in my breadcrumb do not link back to the forum, but instead link to the main vbAdvanced page. For example: I have a forum called 'New Growers'. If I put my mouse pointer over the link, I see:

    http:// www . rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/#new-growers

(Note, I added spaces to keep it from being a link)

If I click the link, it takes me to my vbAdvanced page. Further, if I click a thread in a forum, I get the breadcrumb at the top of the page. The first link in the breadcrumb goes to the vbAdvanced page and looks like this:

    http:// www . rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk

It works like it is supposed to work. The second link in the breadcrumb is the title of the forum and in this example would say "New Growers" and the link would have that '#' sign in it again. Like this:

    http:// www . rv-orchidworks.com/#new-growers

Every time the # sign is in a link, it sends my members back to the 'home page' and not the category they are clicking on.

Here is a link to my forum page so you can see what I am trying to describe.

    OrchidTalk

This only happens on forums that are made to act as 'categories' .

My question: What can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,
    BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? ;)

Turn off the "Direct Category Links" option.

Thanks Keith! That was fast. Someone else must have had this issue. I searched but just could not find it. I appreciate your help and quick response! (It only took 2 minutes to get the response!!!) Great service here.

BTW: I did what you said and it fixed it!

It really isn't an "issue" it's just people not used to that happening. I wouldn't make it a default option in VBSEO but rather let the user decide if he wants to use it. Seems a lot of people wonder why that happens only to find out it's actually a feature. I actually love it. Less low quality pages index the better. I'm OCD about it though heh.

Ok, I have another question related to this topic, but I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask it. Anyway, here goes:

In my breadcrumb when I am at the forum thread level I see three links like this:

    vbAdvanced (home page)>>>category Page>>>>forum page

and the thread title which is not a link.

I do not get a link to the page between the vbAdvanced page and the category page (forum.php).

My question: Is there a way to add a link to the main forum page that list all of my categories? It would have 4 links and look like this:

    vbAdvanced (home page)>>>forum.php page(catagory lists)>>>category page>>>>forum page

    Cheers,

Anyone have any ideas? I have found the place to do it, but do not know the code to add in. Thanks.
