A lil problem

This is a discussion on A lil problem within the Troubleshooting forums, part of the vBSEO SEO Plugin category; Oleg Ignatiuk installed the vbseo plugin for me ... now wht i wanna do is change the path for yaho/google ...

    A lil problem

    Oleg Ignatiuk installed the vbseo plugin for me ...

    now wht i wanna do is change the path for yaho/google sitemap generator as it is goin to forum/vbseo_sitemaps/data/ i want them to in the forum root for that i have to add .htaccess file but i did that is it gonna efect my old .htaccess file ( which i dont have the admin installed it for me )

    Hello Kaleem,

    you should not move the files from vbseo_sitemap/data/ folder since you have a rewrite rule in .htaccess that allows you to access sitemap like:
    http://www.friendskorner.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz
    http://www.friendskorner.com/forum/sitemap_1.xml.gz
    http://www.friendskorner.com/forum/sitemap_2.xml.gz

    it was giving me error b4 dont know y i had over 10000 pages on google now only 700+ dont know wht happened there and also is there anyway a sitemap can be created with the root like www.friendskorner.com/sitemap.xml like that or i have to use something else for that

    Yes, you can setup sitemap access in the domain root, as described here: Sitemap in www root

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteRule ^(sitemap.*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ /forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 [L]wht abt the .htaccess file already there i never saw it there for some reason

    These lines should be in the root .htaccess (not in forums/ folder).

    Old sitemap URLs will still work after that.

    ok lets see and yes i have to menually submit this sitemap rite ?
