Known issues with vBSEO and e-mail confirmation?

Over the last several days I have gotten several support e-mails from members who were able to register but could not get the confirmation step accomplished. I am wondering if this is a known issue and any fixes?

This has only been since I installed vBSEO, though in the same time frame I installed Sitemap generator. For now I have turned off e-mail confirmation, but would probably want that back on as it really damped down on the spam.

    Thanks!

vBSEO has nothing to do with your server e-mail settings. I advise you to investigate your server.

    I'll ask over at vb

It may be the server, but I thought it might be something here as that is the only variable change. It is not that they don't get e-mails, its that the confirmation link doesn't work to register them....so I was thinking it could be a URL re-write thing....but it was only a guess...if its not a known bug, probably something else going on.

    Jason,

Do you have any Custom Rewrite Rules (either in vbseocp or .htaccess/httpd.conf) that relate to register.php?

    I used the default

    Ace,

I hope this is what you mean, I didn't change anything from the default, in admincp >> vbseo >> Control panel >> Custon rewrite rules... I also didn't change anthing in .htaccess .

    If it helps, running 3.6.8 PL2 on Apache/Linux .

    Thanks!

    Hi Jason,

Yep, that's what I meant.. just making sure that wasn't part of the issue.

ya know, now that he mentions it...

i get 2 or 3 emails a week saying the same thing. i always just chalked it up to user error (line breaks in email clients stripping the full code, etc). this might be something to look in to.

Could it have something to do with this vBSEO setting?:

    "
    Rewrite System Email URLs?
Set this option to 'Yes' to have vBSEO rewrite automatic notification emails. "

i think that's only for thread notification emails so it says (hey XYZMemeber, the thread you subscribed has a new post: yoursite.com/thread-id/) instead of showthread.php in the actual email

    Any similarities in their usernames?

    Any similarities at all?

    possibly

Usernames are different....possibility, but I am not sure that they may have been receiving the e-mails through Dept. of Defense computers...some were .mil domains, but some weren't...since they are military, though, they may have been checking from work. That is just a hunch, and I don't know if it would matter.
