    Ioncube,PHP 5.1.1 and vBSEO don't work

I've updated to PHP 5.1.1 because of the security risks of the older versions and because PHP 4.4.1 has broken mod_rewrite.

Zend optimizer is not available for PHP 5.1.x so I've tried to use the Ioncube Version of vBSEO 2.3.0. But this does not work

I load the Ioncube loader through my php.ini and the testscripts (from Ioncube and the test.php from vBSEO) runs fine. No errors.

But after installing vBSEO with Ioncube apache segfaults. Yes, I've used binary mode during upload.... Same with vBSEO 2.2.2.

When the index page loads apache runs into a segfault error and I see only a "test output" in html. Could this be a compatibility problem or an Ioncube problem?

Now my forum run without vBSEO but with PHP 5.1.1 to be more secure than before....

Btw.: as in the zend forum posted, it is possible that zend releases the free optimizer in two weeks but not before.

    Any tips?

PHP 4.4.1 has broken mod_rewrite? Working fine on mine (as far as I know). Any specifics?

    See http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=35096

Looks like that it depends on different configurations. In my case the same error happened. Perhaps it is possible to use a PHP 4.4.x snapshot from cvs but I've tried some snaps before and always get the same error with mod_rewrite (blank page). Because of the reason that there is no "stable 4.4.2" I will not use the 4.x branch at all. Who knows what will be fixed there next in the 4.x release.... 5.1.0(1) is stable without known security issues an working mod_rewrite.

On my server ionCube loader for php 5.1.x is not working. Apache segfaults if vBSEo is enabled. I've had no chance to get all running

Better is to wait for PHP 4.4.2 (RC2-dev is available) or until Zend releases his optimizer for PHP 5.1.x.

As PHP 4.4.1 has broken mod_rewrite with apache 2.0.55 on my servers the 4.4.2-RC2 works fine (I hope there are no security risks as before....).
