ionCube loader won't be installed by host

Hello, my shared hosting provider refuses to install the current version of the ionCube loader, which prevents vbSEO from being installed. :(

What can I do?! Is there a workaround? Do I get my money back?? I didn't know about this requirement before purchasing and now I'm pretty desperate.

    Help please!! :(

Why don't you try the zend solution?

If your host doesn't have ionCube installed already, then the runtime version of ionCube should work for you just fine.

The only time the runtime version won't work is when the host has an older version of ionCube installed via PHP.INI which will override the local copies. If they do have an older version installed, and refuse to upgrade it to the latest version, then it may be time to find a new host.

Well, I'm an absolute noob considering these things. I used the ionCube version, because the test-script recommended to do so. Is zend still worth a try?

What do you mean by "the runtime version of ionCube should work for you just fine"? I don't know how to setup such a thing... the only thing I did was copying the ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so into the ioncube dir on my server and all I get is:

/forums/vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.
    Thanks!!

PS: I just moved to a new host and I'm not keen on having that trouble again.

ALRIGHT!! Zend version is working and my php-info also reads: Zend Loader enabled. But why did the test.php tell me, that I will have to use ioncube?

    Anyway, thanks a lot!

    Hello,

test script sometimes cannot detect Zend Optimizer correctly.
I'm glad you got it working!

Your ionCube error message was probably related to this: IONCUBE and PHP5.1 or greater
